Are you our next Purchasing Manager?

Polar Machine Trading is looking for an experienced and strategic Purchasing Manager who wants to help develop our procurement operations. We work with sales, brokerage, and financing of construction machinery with offices in Luleå and Sundsvall. Through our broad global network, we buy and sell machinery all over the world – and now we are looking for you to take responsibility for the purchasing side.

About the role

As Purchasing Manager with us, you will have a key role in the business. You are responsible for identifying, evaluating, and acquiring construction machinery – individually or in packages – and ensuring that we always have a competitive offering.

Supplier and customer relationships

• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers
• Negotiate terms and agreements with suppliers
• Develop our supplier network nationally and internationally
• Act as the contact person for procurement-related matters

Market monitoring and procurement

• Monitor the construction machinery market – prices, trends, and availability
• Make purchases of machinery individually or in packages
• Identify business opportunities and advantageous purchases
• Manage imports and logistics for international purchases

Valuation and inspection

• Evaluate machinery prior to purchase and sale
• Support salespeople in valuation and pricing of machinery
• Inspect machinery at purchase and delivery
• Assess machinery condition, market value, and potential

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a person with solid experience in procurement, preferably in the machinery or construction industry. You have a business-minded approach, are experienced in negotiation, and have the ability to make quick decisions based on market conditions.

Requirements

• High school education, preferably with technical or business orientation
• Documented experience in procurement or sales within the machinery, construction, or contracting industry
• Good understanding of machinery valuation and market analysis
• Driving license category B
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

Meriting

• Experience in international trade and import of machinery
• Technical background or education in machinery/technology
• Established network within the contracting and machinery industry
• Experience in contract negotiation and commercial terms
• Knowledge in financing and leasing of machinery
• Driving license for heavy vehicles (C/CE)
• Multilingualism (English is meriting)

Employment type

Permanent employment full-time with 6 months probationary period. Start according to agreement, preferably as soon as possible.
